ABOUT US

Welcome to Racing Profiles LTD! We’re a passionate, hands-on fabrication workshop nestled in the heart of Old Sodbury. Our workspace might be modest in size, but it’s brimming with capability.

We take pride in our range of equipment and our ability to tackle a variety of projects. With our in-house CNC plasma cutter, capable of slicing through up to 40 mm of material, and our versatile mini press that can handle around 800 mm width plate bending, we’re well-equipped for custom jobs. Whether it’s pushing out bearings, pressing pins, or bending metal to your specifications, we’ve got you covered.

We also run top-notch welding gear, including a 500-amp water-cooled Synergic MIG welder and a 320-amp AC TIG welder, making us ready for just about any metalworking challenge. We’ve been certified across a wide range of materials, thicknesses, and welding positions over the years, so you can be confident in the quality and craftsmanship we bring to every job.

Ultimately, we love what we do, and we’re always excited to hear about your projects and see how we can help bring them to life. Let’s build something amazing together!

Work carried out

Over time here at Racing Profiles, we've tackled a really diverse mix of projects. For example, we've done everything from cast iron repairs and rebuilding old rusty metal components to fabricating entirely new structures. We've also done some neat alterations on lorries, like adding steps, and we've handled a range of structural work such as multiple beams, staircases, and complete landings.

On top of that, we've handled batch work for customers who bring in their own bracket designs and just need them welded up. We've done alloy wheel repairs, custom aluminum pipework in the motor trade, and a fair bit of hardfacing on things like shredders, crushers, concrete pulverizers, and metal shears.

In other words, there's a lot of variety in what we do, and it all comes down to delivering exactly what our customers need, no matter how big or small.

Development SERVIces

At Racing Profiles LTD it is all about making things better, stronger, and easier to handle. Over the years, I’ve taken on a variety of projects where I've been tasked with not just repairing but improving the way equipment works. That might mean redesigning a part to be more durable, making a component easier to service, or finding ways to produce it more cost-effectively in batches.

To do this, I rely heavily on CAD software, allowing me to rework and optimize designs so parts fit together better and perform more efficiently. Recently, I've also introduced 3D scanning into the mix. This means I can scan existing parts to verify dimensions or quickly reverse-engineer them. So if you need a replacement part with minimal downtime, I can scan it, work on it digitally, and get it back to you quickly while I handle the repairs or even create a brand-new version.

Repairs & Maintenance

Racing Profiles LTD carries out a wide range of repair and maintenance work for plant, machinery, and fabricated components. This includes structural repairs, cracked or failed welds, worn pins and bushes, brackets, frames, buckets, and general heavy-duty steelwork.

Repairs are carried out using MIG, TIG, or MMA welding depending on the material and application, with low-hydrogen or specialist consumables used where required. Components can be prepared, reinforced, or modified to improve strength and service life, not just patched back together.

For more delicate or precision repairs, work is carried out in the workshop using TIG welding. This includes repairs to aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, copper, and brass components, as well as brazing where appropriate. This approach allows for controlled heat input, cleaner finishes, and accurate repair of thinner or more sensitive materials.

Where possible, repairs are completed in-house using CNC plasma cutting, forming, and fabrication equipment, allowing damaged parts to be accurately reproduced or strengthened. On-site repairs can also be arranged where practical.

The focus is always on safe, durable repairs that are fit for purpose and minimise downtime.

Welding and fabrication

At Racing Profiles, we handle a wide spectrum of fabrication and engineering tasks. Whether it's a delicate bespoke repair or bringing your concept to life from scratch, we've got you covered. We also take on mechanical engineering projects that might need a bit of R&D and prototyping to nail down the perfect solution.

We pride ourselves on keeping as much of the machining and fabrication process in-house as possible. That means we do our own rolling, bending, CNC profiling, and just about any type of welding, including coded welding when required. In short, if you need it fabricated, we can probably do it right here.
